About 30+ years ago was when I started into the field of lamp-worked glass. Back in the beginning for the first 15 years I did strictly clear glass and fumed glass. When I decided to start a business doing this art is when I discovered there is so much more, colored glass rods. It took some time to see in color after so long in clear, but now that's all I see. Before making a new item in color I alway begin in clear working out kinks, once the design is finalized is when I begin using color, using dichroic glass and in some cases precious man made stones. I do not paint any of my glass so the color you see is the color it will stay.

My method to design is more complex as shaping a piece requires understanding the glass enough to know what temperature to work it and what you can do whether pulling, overlapping, twisting, gathering and when to add special effects, i.e. fuming and precious stones.
